Biography

Zarko Lausevic was born on January 19, 1960 in Cetinje, Montenegro, Yugoslavia.

Zarko fell in love with theater and acting as an adolescent. He attended the theater section while he was attending the primary school.  At the age of 16 he became the champion of Yugoslavia in the recitation of poetry. At 18, he already got his first role on television.

At age 22, he graduated from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, in the class of professor Mina Dedic. In 1982, immediately after graduating from the University, he received the first major film role. At the same time he became an actor in the Yugoslav Drama Theater, where he played numerous roles of historical importance in the culture of Yugoslavia and other Balkan countries.

Well-known playwrights, theatrical figures, directors noticed the magnificent talent, courage, rebellious spirit, and it was him who entrusted the roles of the most significant figures of Serbian history, both in the theater and in the cinema.
Zarko had a special talent, he knew how to convey emotions through his roles
like no other. No doubt he was considered one of the most talented actors of
his generation.

A wide audience fell in love with him from the first appearance on the big screens. His debut took place in the film “Run”, 1982. During the

1980s and 1990s, he received mainly leading roles in more than 25 films, 17
television shows and numerous theater productions throughout Yugoslavia. During this period he became one of the most popular theater and film actor in
Yugoslavia. Although he was young, handsome and very charismatic, it was the
scope of his dramatic skill that brought him fame in Yugoslavia and beyond.

In 1989, he played one of the most important roles in his career, Milos Obilic in the movie “Battle on Kosovo”.

Due to tragic circumstances, Zarko must to have made a long break in his career, from 1993 to 2015. Zarko wrote three books about his life. Not only because people adored him, but also because of the writing gift he possessed, the books he wrote were widely known and among the most widely readin the country. There were no differences among generations of readers, everyone read with great interest and waited for his books, which for many people were very instructive. He, as the hero of a tragic fate and an open heart, spoke freely about his personal tragedies and  sufferings.

Biography

Leon Lučev was born in Šibenik, Croatia in 1970. He finished primary school and high school in Šibenik. In 1991 he joined the homeland war as a member of the Croatian army. In 1992 he enrolled in the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences in Zagreb, and a year later the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. During his studies in 1994, he shot his first feature film “Kako je počeo rat na mom otoku”(How the war started on my island) with director Vinko Brešan, which became a big hit.  While he was  studying, he worked with Lukas Nola, Zvonimir Jurić and Ognjen Sviličić in their early films. In 1997, after graduation from the Academy of Dramatic Art, he joined the permanent cast of the ITD Theatre. During that period (1997 – 2003) he worked with top theatre directors: Tomi Janežić, Damir Zlatar Fray and Lukas Nola.

In the period 1997—2003 he attended Michael Chekhov method workshops in Grožnjan, led by Scott Fielding and Joanna Merlin. On that occasion he met Tomi Janežić and cooperated with him in the Research Centre for the potential of acting. From 1997 to 2003 he attended Method Acting workshops with Vajevac in Zagreb, as well as with Tomi Janežić. In 2003 he left the ITD Theatre and started acting exclusively on film. He worked with a number of current European and regional film artists: Hans-Christian Schmidt, Jasmila Žbanić, Hrvoje Hribar, Vinko Brešan, Lukas Nola, Angelina Jolie, Zrinko Ogresta, Branko Schmidt, Janez Burger and others. He took part in regional co-productions and shoots in Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro, Germany and Hungary.

From 2003 – 2010 he takes part in workshops and educational seminars in acting techniques according to Jerzy Grotowski, Clowning, Buffons and Majerhold. His teachers are Lee Delong and Richard Nieoczym. In 2006 he founded Živa produkcija, his production company. During the next several years (2006 – 2014) he participated in most of regional, European and world festivals as an actor and a producer. His films won awards in Pula, Berlin, Sundance, Sarajevo, Brussels, Los Angeles and Jerusalem; as an actor he won awards in Pula, Sarajevo, Priština, Kazan (Russia) and Germany. At the first Sarajevo Film Festival in 2007 he started teaching at the Sarajevo Talent Campus.

He developed his own personal way of working with actors, which he has been using ever since, calling it Close up and personal. His teaching at the Talent campus has been recognised as very useful and the most practical one. In 2011 he started teaching at the Academy of Arts in Split as an assistant to professor Jokić. In his practical workshops for future actors and directors, actors can get familiar with film acting techniques, and directors can learn how to communicate with actors. In 2011 and 2012 he taught at Dr. Ante Peterlić Media Culture School, in acting workshops intended for educators working in elementary and secondary schools.

From 2003 to 2013 he occasionally worked with children at Zlarinsko ljeto Project – Dječja republika Zlarin.

Also, from 2011 to 2013 he organized and led film workshops in different smaller places and towns in Croatia, as part of Visiting Movie Theatre Project (Kino u gostima)
